Well, waiting to ovulate is a bit like being on a stake out. One must patiently sit, and sit, and wait, and wait. Oh, and of course one must with keen awareness observe the cues of the impending ovulation.
I remember reading about fertility awareness methods long ago as I studied theology. Since I was surrounded by the Roman Catholic variety, they made much ado about Natural Family Planning. At the time, I thought it was insanely bizarre for a woman to be so in touch with her cervical position, mucus, etc.
Now, here I am a slave to all of the above and of course that handy bed side thermometer. Never would I have imagined scoping out the success of my day by my 6:15am temperature reading. Of course the paranoia only worsens past ovulation. I do well for about seven days and then the obsession sets in. So, here I sit waiting, planning my day around that much anticipated peak on the OPK. I hope my kid appreciates all this...
