The Third Day

So, I am three days past ovulation and already wishing I had a yes or no answer to the question: am I pregnant? My God, how much money could I make if I came up with an invention that could allow you to tell the day after ovulation if fertilization had taken place. Can't you imagine it--a thermometer like device that when inserted in your mouth in the morning could give you messages like "egg and sperm have met, looks good" or "embryo exits fallopian tube" or "embryo implantation successful." Gee, that would be nice. That way I woudn't have to sit around wondering if my cramps are a good sign, if my temps are doing anything exciting, if I feel "different or pregnant" or analyzing my undergarments for signs of implantation.

I know, it's only three days past ovulation and I am already losing my mind. I think the DSM IV should include a special category of insanity for those trying to conceive.

Back to waiting and watching...sigh.

Thanks for the info on the IUI. How great that you can do that at home.

I am 1 dpIUI and so ready to know if it worked or not. I HATE the 2ww. I hope that you get a BFP!

Blessings!

You know, I was watching that NOVA video on pregnancy the other day (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/miracle/program.html#), and I noticed that they said around 5dpo a blastocyst (fertilized egg) produces an enzyme that "eats through the zona" (its protective covering). Can't there be a test that detects the enzyme burst? Sheesh!

Anyway, I feel for you. I am **finally** at the end of my 2ww...just went in for my beta blood draw late this morning. The 2ww really does make a person insane. I'll be thinking of you.

Wow, your thinking is marvelous! Let's get someone to donate us a couple of million for enzyme research, develop our product and sweep the pregnancy testing market off its feet!!!

Good Luck with your beta...let me know what you get. I'll be here rooting for you!
