Wise Words

I ran across this on another blog and it has hung with me in thought. Often times I think I have stumbled on something profound in my own head and delightfully discover that someone else has traveled there and described it much better than I ever could. Here is one such instance--

Kahlil Gibran wrote about Joy and Sorrow:

"Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. How else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain."

Right now I have a joyful sense of gratitude for a clean bill of health (well, no counting hypertension) and the hope of pursuing motherhood again soon. The good times are indeed good and the bad times, well, they can be bad.

Such is life and I am grateful...
