My godson's answer to a challenge...

Just gnaw on it for a while and if all else fails, break out the drool...

Watching my godson play today was a real joy. He's at the curious but still-can't get-around mode at eight months of age. Watch out world--he will soon be mobile!

He's quite a ham, even at this tender age. He is very aware of when someone is trying to make him laugh and he usually obliges them. He is also attuned to inside jokes that have developed between himself and his parents and will laugh furiously when they engage him. He erupts in moments of unfettered joy and sucks you into the simplicity of his world. I always go with him gladly, letting the background fade as he reaches for my all-too-protuberant nose with his fingers and ponders how he might chew on such a beak.

He helps me to look forward to having one or two of my own, soon! Meanwhile, I am sleeping and napping like a baby with this new protocol of progesterone and estrace. I wonder if they've tried progesterone shots for insomniacs? He he.

May we all find some of that unfettered joy in our respective journeys...
