I can finally say that I am feeling like my basket might be half full. After a few weeks of feeling like crapola warmed over, the sun is beginning to shine and my digestive system is not rebelling against everything I put in my mouth.
Despite a true case of morning sickness the last few days, the rest of the day has ushered in a bit more energy, and with that a feeling of humanness. Of course, with my less than sterling reproductive history, I always start worrying when I feel good and the world seems okay. To counteract this suspicion, I ordered one of those home dopplers, hoping that I might be able to hear a heartbeat and reassure myself from time to time.
Of course, the first week produced nothing but digestive noises, strange whirrs and thumps, some clicking here and there, and of course my own heartbeat. But, today, the most magic of days, I was lying next to my darling hubby doing my heartbeat search. I was beginning to feel like the bloaks who send out radio signals through space in the hope of an alien response. Anyhow, to my surprise and delight, I landed on a heartbeat that was much faster than mine, in the 160's to be precise, and we sat there grinning like kids at the marvel going on in my gut.
So, today things seem good. The world is brighter with the possiblity of beautiful, colorful easter eggs lying around each corner just waiting for me to pick it up...
ALSO, to mark this banner day, I found out my Hen Friend had her TWINS yesterday! Mom and babes are doing well and I can't wait to hear about her motherhood adventure. Job well done my Hen Friend!
A good day indeed...
