This stinks, but it could be worse...

We survived the hurricane, but have no power. Our problems are mostly aesthetic (big limbs down in our yard) but no significant damage to our home. We are so grateful and overwhelmed by what has happened.

My Mom had her power restored today, so she encouraged me to update my blog to let folks know we are still alive and well in Mobile, Alabama. Our city is a fine mess and there are no services (gas, stores, etc.) But, we hope that things will return to some semblance of normal in the coming week.

So, we are camping out at my Mom's where it is cool. I am not digging the heat and pregnancy. I am so grateful that she has power and modern conveniences like television and cool air...all the things we typically take for granted.

More to come when our power is restored. Meanwhile, we pray for those in Mississippi and Louisiana, people whose lives will never be the same. I am grateful to be healthy, safe, and 32 weeks pregnant!
