My little angel has his first yucky cold. It breaks my heart to hear his stuffy nose and know that I can't simply help him blow it. We do the suction thing regulary and he hates it. He looks at me as if to say "why are you assaulting me with that bulb thing?"
Gabe has been a trooper though. He has been a little fussier than usual (with a few more appearances of THE LIP), but still pretty laid back and calm. Thank goodness he is still eating well and resting. This morning when I changed him, I almost mistook him for a sumo wrestler--my boy is putting on the weight!
Unfortunately he missed his first acting gig last night. He was invited (after hearing about his dramatic capabilities with THE LIP) to play Baby Jesus in our church's live nativity scene. He was all set, lines memorized, and then the bloody cold hit. I couldn't let him face the crowds in anything less than stellar shape, so we had to let his under-study take the role.
But, Gabe has been invited again to play Baby Jesus this Sunday. It's so nice to know my boy is in demand...
Meanwhile, I'm dousing him with extra sugars and keeping him warm and humidified (new word). I pray it will pass quickly and not morph into anything serious.

Oh Gabe!! That first cold is heartbreaking, as is that lip. Poor little man. And already slated to play Baby Jesus?! My, that gorgeous little sweetheart needs an agent. I hope that he's feeling better soon for his debut on Sunday. Take pictures!!!
