So, this baby growth thing is something else. My sister warned me, but I didn't realize how right she was.
Gabe has so many outfits--stuff I picked up when I was pregnant with the triplets, stuff I picked up before I had a miscarriage, and stuff I bought especially with him in mind. Now, mind you, I am the queen of Ebay shopping. I don't buy new outfits unless they are drastically marked down. I like nice stuff but at inexpensive prices. So, most of his stuff is hand-me-downs from friends or Ebay treasures.
I have tons of cute outfits that I longed to see Gabe wear when I was pregnant. I washed them, ironed them, hung them, admired them. But, now I have to deal with the wonderful reality of his growth--he's growing so fast that unless I dress him in some outfits, even for one day, he'll never wear them. So, I dress him up, take a picture to remember that outfit, and then move on. Sad, but true.
As my sister and I mused today, there is still that little girl part of me that loves dressing my baby just as I dressed my baby dolls when I was little. I love putting on Gabe's jammies each night, and then picking an outfit out for the day wear. I put far more effort into his wardrobe than I do mine (mine currently consists of sweat pants, jeans, and t-shirts). Most of the time he is a good sport about it, except when I put my cold hands on his warm tummy.
The picture above is an example of a probable one-time-wear outfit that I snapped pictures of so I could remember it. Gabe can fit into it now (6 months size) but it supposedly the middle of winter (though here in Alabama it was 70 degrees today). So many cute outfits that just aren't the right season or that he will grow out of so fast.
But, don't get me wrong. I am so happy for his growth. It is truly a miracle to me. I already look back at pictures of my little baby and think, "where did he go?" My baby's chub cheeks delight me...I'll just have to savor some outfits in pictures rather than in practical wear.

That is one dilemma I can relate to! And one more topic one of my blogging friends has gotten around to posting about, so I don't have to now. :)
Todd's mom sends the most Beautiful clothes from New Zealand. Something about that country, they make the most gorgeous clothes for kids. Anyway, being a photo junkie like you, and a sentimental baby clothing hound as well, I have taken pictures of "once worn" outfits too!
My joy is that I've been able to at least put them on each of my kids once. You'll just have to have another boy, so you can revisit your favorite outfits!
