Tagged!

Wow, I feel special. I have been tagged by Day (http://abeautifulday.blogs.com/) to join the bloggers who are sharing five special things about themselves. I'm already sweating bullets wondering what my answers will be and if I can come up with five people to tag (not already tagged that is). Oh, the pressure...he he.

I'll go a bit daring and tell you five things not previously mentioned on this blog:

1. I was married when I was 19 and it was an absolute disaster. It lasted only one year, one insidiously long year, until I mustered the courage to get a DIVORCE. Later, while finishing my doctoral degree, and while I was still Catholic, I got an annullment. I did the latter not so much for the church as for myself, a final sense of closure. It worked; I barely remember What's-His-Name?

2. I love beer so much that I gave it up seven years ago. It was a wise decision since it was consuming too much of my free time. Other health-wise decisions: losing 80lbs between the ages of 16 and 18.

3. My music collection ranges from Metallica to Peter, Paul & Mary. Latest album (who says "album" anymore? geesh I am old...) in my cue: U2's Rattle and Hum.

4. My religious predilections and adventures have included brief to long stints as a Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, and Lutheran. I'm currently back to the Methodist gig again. However, I will be teaching in a Jesuit college next year--one of my dreams come true.

5. I might have mentioned this one before...but...the most joy I have ever known has come in loving my husband and my son. I consider this time of my life to be the fullest and richest ever. It is what I dreamed of as a little girl--dragging around the beautiful baby dolls that my mother bought me, beautiful girly dolls that I turned into boys by cutting off their hair and ditching the frilly dresses. I have my son now and he brings me a delight and purpose I never knew was possible.
