Today I put away a mess of clothes that are size 0-3 and 3-6 months in size. They were enough to fill a big garbage bag. I labeled them and stacked them in Gabe's closet in case we have another boy. I just can't bear to get rid of them.
I realized, however, that one does not need fifty onesies or fifteen pairs of socks. So many of the items that Gabe had in the above size range he didn't really use much. The same goes for pajama outfits, regular outfits, the whole shabang.
Like the outfit he is wearing for this picture--yes, another "just for one picture" outfit. I thought before I had him that it was darling--an Ebay treasure for under ten bucks. But, once I got it on him, a task that was not easy as there were no convenient snaps, I realized that the big collar just isn't practical. The first thing he did was to start trying to chew on it and I found myself constantly repositioning it. It is cute, but not very practical.
And, normally, I am the queen of practicality. So, I find myself looking ahead for clothes that are comfortable and usable (for Mom and baby). Of course, if we were to have a girl, I am sure I will ignore all the previous thoughts and look for ridiculously cute dresses and have to re-learn these lessons all over again.
As for my babe, he's growing too fast! We think he may have the beginnings of a tooth breakthrough on one side. How can this be?! I'll be breaking out the drool bibs soon.
Gabe gives me so much hope these days. I love to dream ahead of what comes next while I enjoy the here-and-now. I feel so blessed and so lucky to have him. It motivates me all the more to have more children, as hard as that can be with the fertility treatments, etc. But, the joy he has brought to our lives outweighs the difficulty in getting him here...a love beyond measure and compare.

Adorable! Phooey to practical, at least long enough to take the picture and to ogle at him a few minutes hey?
Keep 'em coming.
I wish I could snug him!
He is a beautiful boy!! And I totally hear you about the clothes thing - besides, WHO sizes these darn things? It is so inaccurate.
I am putting away lots of clothes Imri never even got a chance to wear *sniff*. I will probably freecycle them but some ... some I have to keep.
You probably have a few that you want to put away forever, don't you?
