I dread telling him he doesn't have a tail...

Gabe took his first real notice of our cat yesterday. As she nuzzled up alongside him he looked carefully at her colorful fur and her tantalizing hind appendage. His eyes grew bigger as he traced the long graceful tail from start to finish. He then looked at me as if to say "how neat and nifty, where's mine?"

I hope I can convince him that being a handsome young man with two arms and two legs is just as exciting as having colorful fur, whiskers, and a tail.

Hee! So cute. I wish my cat had patience like yours...my son was the proud recipient of claw marks on his face this week that were much, much too close to his eye for comfort. Owen still thinks the cat is the coolest toy ever.

I can totally picture the moment you descibe, of Gabe transfixed on the tail. Isn't that so fun that he can notive these things now? It only gets funner.
Maybe the cat doesn't think it's so fun though.

Please excuse my lame spelling. It's that time of night, when I should be sleeping but I'm not.
