One down...

I finished my portrait photography class last night. It was a fitting end to a good class. We all shared our work and gave positive critiques. I proudly presented a large 12x12 scrapbook album that I filled with my favorite 8x10's matted with some of my scrapbooking supplies. I felt like a kid at "show-n-tell." Every page that flipped to reveal a new picture of my baby, I just smiled very proudly. It was a fulfilling feeling in many ways, especially with hubby sitting next to me enjoying the show.

I'm surprised at how much I learned in just one course. In fact, I thought I wouldn't take home that much because it was a hands-on type of course with little formal instruction and no textbook. Usually, the geek in me revels in books to tote home and well defined homework assignments. But, this class was casual and chock full of artistic insight. I loved it!

So, I am on to my next courses:
1. Camera, Light, Film & Digital media I
2. Darkroom photography
3. Creative Photo Design

Then, all I will have to take is Camera, Light, blah-blah Part II, and Intermediate Darkroom Photography. After that, I present a portfolio to the head cheese in the arts department and make my case as to why I deserve the certificate of photography. It's really quite simple compared to the Ph.D. process...LOL

Hubby and I are cranking our grey matter as how to best get our "Scatter Joy Photography" business started. Hubby is taking an online course in starting your own business and will be doing a similar course at the local university. We're trying to make sure we have all the bases covered. I find it all very exciting--I can only hope that we can make it really happen in some sort of lucrative way.

Meanwhile, I am overdue for my baby's monthly newsletter. Bad, bad mommy. I'm on to that, pronto...five months old!
