Almost 29 weeks

Island hopping

Tomorrow I am off to see Doctor Professor Nerd. I am hoping to get a good report and somehow cruise into the weeks that begin with the number three. That will be a pleasant achievement.

Meanwhile, we have nothing to do here at home. We've nestled in and gotten things where we want them. We've bought furniture, set up house, set up the nursery, etc. I've washed baby clothes, sterilized bottles, packed a diaper bag, and done everything preparatory that I can think of. Now, we're left to twiddle our thumbs and that's not always a good thing.

I should be working more diligently on my book, but my brain has lost its power. While Gabe hammers away at my bladder (either as his footstool or personal pillow), I am distracted by my minor discomforts. Of course, I am delighted by them as well and always enamoured by the boy living in my belly.

So, back to how to pass the time? We've tooled around the city checking out local attractions and eating out way too often. We've spent money we didn't need to spend. I think we are both hesitant to commit to something too permanent (church work, volunteer work, part-time job) with the impending change coming our life. But, we simply must find something to do if this boy is actually going to be a term baby...wow, what a concept.

My intuition says he will still come early, just hopefully not too early. Each passing day is a blessing and I am all too aware of that. It gets harder not to think about the triplets and the panic-stricken suddenness of our loss. It certainly jolts me back into an appreciative frame of mind.

So, here's to 29 weeks this week...we'll see if I really do have eleven more to go.
