Smooth sailing

Dr. Nerdy Professor has declared that I am good to go for another two weeks. Of course, he has become less scientific in his methods of declaration. I think he wooed me into thinking he was going to be a high-tech efficient nerd with ultrasounds at every visit, but he's easing out of that role gradually.

So, today I was weighed (not much gain, so good); BP was fine; urine dip was fine (I assume); cervix was felt to be high and closed; Gabe's heartbeat was listened to on the doppler and pronounced "good." I was given another appointment for two weeks from now with an ultrasound then.

I guess I'll have to wait two more weeks to see my lil bugger. I felt like begging for an ultrasound today, but that would only be to satisfy my need TO SEE that Gabe is well. I can surely feel him kicking and rumbling about.

So, geesh, this is starting to feel darn close to normal. Good grief. My mother mentioned today that she made it through her pregnancies (both of us breech) with no ultrasounds...wow, those dear pioneer women who were deprived of the ability to peek in on the wee one. I might die of curiosity.

Overall, I am happy to be normal tonight and pray that the normalcy continues...

Two more weeks! Wow. Good luck to you. My mom (who had 4) always comments on how closely monitored I am :) Ah, fertility strikes!
