I had my niece over this last weekend. She is positively delightful and got to spend lots of time with her favorite nephew.
Early Sunday morning she and I were watching Gabe and feeding him. She said the nicest thing to me--the conversation went like this:
Tara: JJ (my nickname), sometimes when Gabe is fussy, you can pick him up and he just settles down right away.
Me: Yeah, I think he likes me, maybe a bit.
Tara: Sometimes I see him just looking at you and I wonder what he is thinking.
Me: I don't know...
Tara: I think he is thinking "I have the prettiest Mom in the world."
Me: Silent, choking back my tears of gratitude for her kindness...
Divine moments indeed.

Aaaack!! That made me tear up too! What a gentle, thoughtful neice that Sara is.
Gabe's right....he does have the prettiest Mommy in the world. He's a lucky little boy!!!
....and no, just because I'm your mother, I am not prejudiced. :-)
