34 weeks and the homestretch...

34 weeks...

My goodness! I'm really looking like a porker these days. But, as you can see by the big cheesy grin on my face, I am happy to be here.

Our check-in with Dr. Nerdy Professor went well this week. The 24 hour urine test #2 came back fine with no increase in protein. My BP is behaving and no worrisome signs of swelling.

The biophysical profile (although a 'quicky' ultrasound) showed Gabe practicing breathing and doing well. Next week we'll get another weight guesstimate from the ultrasound measurements.

I survived the second non-stress test with a little less stress this time. Gabe slept through most of it except when the nurses came in and started talking about their lunch options. For some reason that woke him up real good and the nurse said there was not going to be a problem with him being declared "reactive." After hearing this story, my sister has decided that he is going to take after my side of the family with our penchant for eating well.

So, I am happy to be this far. I asked the doc, out of curiosity of course, at what point they wouldn't stop labor. He said at 34 weeks, maybe not, but definitely after 35 weeks they would just let it go. Not that I am in a hurry mind you, but I relish thinking that the end is nearing soon.

Not a bad week on the gestation front...
